Seven-year-old attacked by dog in Manor

A seven-year-old boy was attacked by a dog while playing in a neighborhood in Manor.

According to the Manor Police Department, officers were called to the 14400 block of Callan Court shortly after 8 pm on Monday, July 3, 2017 after a child was attacked by a pitbull mix.

The seven-year-old was reportedly playing in a yard when the attack happened.

In home security footage taken by the dog's owner, you can see see the dog chasing the child and attacking him as he runs away. In the video, the owner is seen following and attempting the pull the dog off of the child.

The child suffered bites to his left and right upper thigh, and the left side of his back.

The child was transported to a local hospital for his injuries and has since been released.

The dog was taken to Austin Animal Center and was placed on a 10-day rabies watch quarantine.

The owner has agreed to surrender the dog. The owner is faces a number of charges including animal at large, unprovoked attack, no proof of rabies vaccination, and failing to register the dog with the City of Manor.
