Man shot, killed by police in Anaheim
A man was shot and killed in Anaheim, just a short distance away from Disneyland.
ANAHEIM, Calif. - A sexual assault suspect was shot and killed by police in Anaheim just a short walking distance from Disneyland.
According to police, officers were trying to arrest 29-year-old Luis Munoz in the 300 block of W. Orangewood Avenue around 1 p.m. Munoz ran away and officers chased after him, officials said.
Officers confronted Munoz in the area of Harbor Boulevard and Orangewood Avenue, and that's where he was shot.
Munoz died at the scene.
Authorities recovered a large knife, believed to belong to Munoz, at the scene.
No officers were injured.
The location of the police investigation is on the same block as the Toy Story parking lot, as well as a couple of blocks away from Disney's California Adventure theme park. The police investigation is not taking place at neither Disneyland nor any of Disney's properties.
The Orange County District Attorney's Office is investigating.
