Sikh community to distribute supplies for online learning in Jurupa Valley
RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Sikh Temple Jurupa Valley is distributing hundreds of supplies, including laptop desks, headphones, backpacks, and COVID-19 sanitation kits for students who don't have the necessary supplies and tools for remote learning.
The Sikhs started a meal program last March and distributed 175,000 hot meals and handed out more than 100,000 boxes of vegetables, fruits, and dairy products.
"We are hoping to play a small role in bringing a sense of cheer and hope in these tough times to our communities and now to our children at the local school districts," said Gurpreet Singh.
The distribution will take place at Sikh temple Jurupa Valley Sunday, August 30 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The temple is located at 7940 Mission Blvd, Riverside, CA 92509.
