Star Fire burning in Chino Hills now 100 percent contained, 156 acres burned
CHINO HILLS, Calif. - The Star Fire burning in Chino Hills is now 100 percent contained and scorched 156 acres since it broke out on July 28.
The blaze broke out in a rugged area near Falling Star Lane and Chino Hills Parkway. One house burned down in the inferno. No injuries were reported.

Fire investigators say the fire was caused by a large bird making contact with the high voltage power lines of a power pole. The bird fell to the ground and ignited the grass.
With the Star Fire now 100 percent contained, suppression repair efforts will begin on Monday, August 5, according to the Chino Valley Fire Department
