Student injured in hazmat incident at UCLA
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - A student was injured in a hazmat situation at UCLA Tuesday night after being exposed to some kind of chemical in a lab.
It happened at the four-story Molecular Sciences Building at about 8:30 p.m.
Aerial video showed firefighters wheeling the student out. She was decontaminated before being taken to the hospital with minor lacerations, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No one else was hurt and no formal evacuations were issued, fire officials said.
Fire department hazmat experts, working in consultation with UCLA staff, entered the lab and determined there was no spill before turning it over to campus officials.
