Super Saturday: Last minute holiday shoppers crowd local malls
GLENDALE, Calif. - ‘Twas four days before Christmas and all through the mall, many creatures were stirring with sales for all.
“I got wonderful deals right now it’s a great time to shop so everything is like half percent buy one get one free, great,” said holiday shopper Ewilder Berry, who was with her grandson Devon.
The presents were stacked on the shelves with care as gleeful young children hoped St. Nick would be there.
“I want a motorbike,” said 9-year-old Devon Moore. He asked Santa for a bike and is confident he will deliver it on Christmas morning.
While visions of Disney toys danced in their heads, Mom and Dad fought traffic to buy bag loads of presents.
“Santa’s been really good to my kids this year,” said shopper Tony Pulido.
Thousands swarmed the Glendale Galleria on Super Saturday. Nearly 150 million people expected to hit the stores nationwide, even surpassing Black Friday.
“This is probably the busiest I’ve seen it here so yeah we’re having a good time. Parking was atrocious but can’t blame it,” stated shopper Eddie Gelhaus.
From things that sparkle and shine to things that don’t. Holiday shoppers braved the cheerful crowds to find just the perfect gift.
“Just bought a necklace for my mom. Shopping for candles, bringing in the Christmas spirit,” said shopper Jackelyn Santiago.
And with a spirited economy, most we talked to said they believe this year will be a very Merry Christmas!
