Alleged Metrolink trespasser shot by deputy in Redlands
REDLANDS, Calif. - An investigation is underway after a suspect was shot by a San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy Monday morning, according to officials.
Just before 7:30 a.m. employees with Metrolink reported a trespasser on the tracks at the Nevada Street station. Responding officers found the suspect on the tracks, and that's when the "lethal force encounter" happened.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment; that person's condition is unknown.
The deputy was not injured.
Northbound lanes on California Street were closed between Redlands and the 10 Freeway during the investigation but have since reopened.
