Suspect sought in attack of 60-year-old man outside 7-Eleven in Twentynine Palms
TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. - The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department sought the public’s help identifying the person who is accused of beating a 60-year-old man outside a 7-Eleven in Twentynine Palms.
The assault happened at the in the 73000 block of Twentynine Palms Highway on Monday at 6:40 p.m.
The sheriff’s department said the victim was seated outside when a black Nissan Altima pulled up next to him. The person seated in the passenger’s seat exited the vehicle and started kicking and stomping on the victim’s head.
Authorities said the victim did not provoke the suspect.
Following the assault, the suspect ran off and into the vehicle he arrived in. The sedan was last seen traveling south on Twentynine Palms Hwy.
The crime was not originally reported, but detectives at the Morongo Basin station become aware of the situation after surveillance video was posted to social media.
The victim was identified as Timothy Richardson. His condition is unknown.
Authorities were unable to positivity distinguish the suspect as male or female. However, said the suspect was described as between the ages of 15 to 20 years and were wearing a white shirt and blue pants.
A description of the driver was not available.
