LOS ANGELES - A teenage boy was killed in a hit-and-run crash Friday while riding a bicycle outside BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, officials said.
Emergency crews responded right outside LAFC's stadium in the Exposition Park neighborhood around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 22.
Investigators said that the crash happened after a group of people on bikes got into an altercation with a car on Figueroa Street, just outside the stadium parking lot. The car and one person on a bike, identified as a 16-year-old boy, continued into the parking lot, where the driver hit the boy with his car.
Paramedics pronounced the teen dead at the scene. The car was not there. Officials are investigating the crash as a hit and run.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and said it needs the public's help to identify the car and the driver, but did not offer any description of the suspect's vehicle.
