Porter Ranch community mourns teens killed in crash

Two teenagers were killed and eight others were injured over the weekend in a crash in Porter Ranch. Sixteen-year-old Magnus Robinson was killed in the crash, as well as a 14-year-old girl who has not yet been identified.

Two teens were killed and eight others injured in a three-vehicle crash Saturday in the Porter Ranch area of Los Angeles. One person is facing criminal charges, according to police. 

The crash was reported at 5:35 p.m. at 11001 N. Reseda Blvd., said the Los Angeles Fire Department's Brian Humphrey.

Police said the driver of a black Honda CRV was speeding southbound on Reseda Boulevard south of San Fernando Mission Boulevard when the SUV veered into the northbound lanes and collided with a black Toyota Venza and a Volkswagen Jetta. The SUV then collided into a parked car along the curb on Reseda Boulevard.

‘He was a very lovable person’: 2 teens killed, 8 injured in Porter Ranch crash

Investigators say speed was a factor in the deadly crash.

Two of the six people inside the SUV were killed. A 16-year-old boy, identified as Magnus Robinson, died at the scene, and a 14-year-old girl taken to the hospital died Sunday, according to officials. She has not been identified.

Three people inside the Venza and one person inside the Jetta were transported to local hospitals for treatment of moderate injuries; authorities said they are all expected to recover.  

The driver of the SUV, who has not been identified by police at this time, remains in the hospital and faces criminal charges upon being released, police said. 

The investigation remains ongoing.

"Drivers are reminded not to drive under the influence of any intoxicant, to drive at a safe speed, and obey all the rules of the road. Reckless driving behavior carries serious consequences," police said in a statement.
