Terrorism and Technology: Covering Pakistan by way of Chino

Technology is amazing, isn't it? Today, I interviewed a Riverside pastor who is from Lahore, Pakistan. She was among the invited speakers for an inter-faith prayer vigil, sponsored by the Baitul Hameed Mosque.

The gathering was for the victims of the bombing attack of an amusement park, filled with families.

Rev Khushnud was in Lahore, just days before the Easter attack in a crowded park. Her husband, a Christian bishop, is still in Lahore and spent Sunday attending to those who lost loved ones or were injured in the blast and hospitalized.

I did a lengthy interview with Rev. Khushnud as she relayed what her husband told her about the carnage.

But, then, thanks to FaceTime (!) I was actually able to ask my questions directly to him.

It was 8 in the morning, Pakistani time and Samuel Azariah was just waking up.

He lay in bed as he described the horror of the day.

This is a shot of the screen in the truck's editing system.

He believes the death toll is much higher than reported. The official death toll is 70 but Azariah says there were at least 70 deaths at one hospital he visited and another 30 deaths at another hospital. He also told me he's not sure if this attack targeted Christians, since so many of the victims were not Christian.
