Three suspects sought in West Hollywood robbery caught on video

Deputies sought three suspects who stole the purses of two women outside of a condominium building in West Hollywood.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Sunday outside a condominium complex located on Kings Road between Santa Monica Boulevard and Romaine Street.

Security footage shows two women walking towards Gelson's grocery store near Santa Monica Blvd when three men appear out of nowhere and violently grab their purses, knocking one woman to the ground. The men then fled from the scene.

A neighbor who has lived in the area for over two decades said the incident does not surprise him and that he has noticed an increase in violence in the area over the last year.

"I see a lot of this activity...I don't feel as safe as I used to... I sorry when I'm outside, I'm always on guard," the neighbor said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's West Hollywood station said there was no official uptick of crime in the area.

Seven strong-armed robberies have been reported in the area within the last 30 days.

The investigation is ongoing.
