'Tokyo Delves' owners open up about fire that destroyed their business and others
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (FOX 11) - The owners of the Tokyo Delves restaurant are speaking out about a fire that destroyed their business along with four others on Monday.
They say they are now trying to pick up the pieces. Tokyo Delves has been red-tagged -- deemed a hazard to enter. The yellow tape, boarded windows, and peeling paint of the North Hollywood establishment doesn't even begin to demonstrate the damage to the inside.
Mario Mira and Lana Petrosyan have owned the staple restaurant for 30 years.
What caused the fire sparked a point of contention that led to a brawl between Mira and other owners whose businesses were also damaged.
The family says the outpouring of support from the community is now keeping them going. The family started a GoFundMe page asking the community to help them rebuild because they have liability insurance but not fire coverage.
