United Airlines purchases naming rights for 'United Airlines Memorial Coliseum'

LOS ANGELES, CA (FOX 11) - The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is getting a makeover and a new name!

The coliseum will now be called the United Airlines Memorial Coliseum.

It's a 16 year $69 million dollar naming rights deal.

The name change will take effect in August of next year.

Also happening, $270-million-dollar renovation project.

The coliseum's seating capacity is going to be reduced from 93-thousand to 77-thousand.

All of the seats are being replaced.

And new suites and video screens are on the way.
