Vehicle careens off SB 101 Freeway, killing pedestrian and crashing into building
LOS ANGELES - A pedestrian was killed Thursday morning and another was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle that careened off the Southbound 101 Freeway and crashed into a building.
Los Angeles Police Department patrol units responded at 4:23 a.m. to the Vine Street off-ramp of the freeway where a pedestrian had been struck and killed, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.
The vehicle ran off the freeway, crashed through a series of trees and into a building.
The collision caused the closure of the freeway at the Vine Street exit for several hours.
Authorities are still investigating what caused the driver to careen off of the freeway.
