Video allegedly shows Lynwood High School teacher choking student
LYNWOOD, Calif. - Authorities on Tuesday were investigating an alleged incident of alleged physical abuse involving a male teacher and a male student at Lynwood High School.
"Special Victims Bureau (detectives) are investigating an alleged physical abuse incident that reportedly occurred Oct. 10 ... at approximately 9 a.m. in a Lynwood High School classroom,'' according to a sheriff's statement. "The alleged incident involved a 53-year-old male teacher and a 15-year-old male student.''
The teacher, whose name was not released, has been placed on administrative leave, according to the sheriff's department, which reported the investigation is "still in the preliminary stages."
"The sheriff's department is in possession of a video of the incident, but we are requesting any additional video footage be provided to Special Victims Bureau,'' the sheriff's statement says.
