VIDEO: Elderly man and teenage boy break into Lakewood Liquor store
LAKEWOOD, Calif. (FOX 11) - The Lakewood Sheriff's Department is on the lookout for an unlikely duo. An elderly man and a young boy broke into a liquor store on Paramount Boulevard at about 4:40am Tuesday morning.
It appears from the surveillance video that the two knew exactly what they were doing. The young boy kept a look out - while the older man used bolt cutters to open the gate. He then broke the glass door, entered the liquor store, and stole about $2,000 from the cash registers.
He then sent the boy in to steal several small bottles of alcohol.
They were seen driving away in a an older model 2 door maroon Honda with damage to the left front headlight, and a rear license plate with an American flag.
The man is described as an African-American male in his 60's with dark graying hair, a gray mustache, wearing a dark colored long sleeve t-shirt and shorts with white socks and black sandals.
The young boy is also African-American, medium height and build, wearing a black hoodie with a red picture on the back, black pants and black shoes with white trim.
The owners who did not want to be unidentified say they are concerned for their safety. "We will maybe add some more locks to the doors, the front doors the back doors, maybe more sensors, more motion alarms."
The Lakewood Sheriffs Department is asking the public for information on the case.
