Waymo is coming to Los Angeles freeways, company announces
LOS ANGELES - Waymo announced it will begin testing its driverless vehicles on freeways across Los Angeles.
The company announced the move on X on Tuesday, saying that Waymo employees would have "access to fully autonomous rides on LA freeways."
In their post, the company showed how a trip from Santa Monica to downtown LA could be cut in half using the city's freeways, traffic depending, obviously. While the example showed the route would utilize the 10 Freeway, it wasn't clear which, if any other freeways, the vehicles would be using.

Waymo's coverage area in Los Angeles County is 79 square miles, including Santa Monica, Culver City, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, West LA and downtown. Portions of the 405 and 110 freeways are also included in that coverage area.
After testing the service with employees, the company hopes to offer the ride to their customers.
