Whittier police determine suspicious package near Planned Parenthood was empty beer keg
WHITTIER, Calif. (FOX 11) - Police investigated a suspicious package in Whittier on Friday morning, authorities said, but later determined that it was simply an empty beer keg.
Whittier police said they evacuated the area near that suspicious package at Walnut Street and Greenleaf Avenue around 10 a.m. A sheriff's bomb squad responded to the scene to investigate the package. The address authorities responded to was near a Planned Parenthood.
Police asked civilians to avoid the area as they investigated.
Investigators cleared the scene around 12 p.m. after determining that the suspicious item was an empty beer keg.
