Woman found dead in Lancaster home

A woman was found dead in her home in Lancaster after police say she was killed in a home invasion overnight. One person is in custody, but police haven't said if that person is a suspect.

A homicide investigation is underway in Lancaster after a woman was killed during a home invasion overnight.

Sheriff's deputies with the Lancaster Sheriff's Station responded to a call reporting a burglary/home invasion in the 45500 block of Barrymore Avenue just after midnight.

At the scene, deputies found the victim suffering from blunt force trauma to her head. She was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. 

The victim has since been identified as LA County probation officer Paula Lind, a 16-year veteran of the department.

An unidentified man found in the house was detained, according to officials. Investigators have not said whether that man was a suspect, just that he was detained after they entered the house.
