A woman died of head injuries Monday when she jumped from a moving minivan in Brea, and police were questioning the vehicle's driver.

The Anaheim woman, who is believed to be in her 20s, was injured at 1:26 a.m. on Imperial Highway at Laurel Avenue, Brea police Sgt. Chris Haddad said.

The woman was a passenger in a tan minivan, which initially came to a stop, with two other women getting out to tend to the injured woman, Haddad said. The male driver of the van then left the scene, he said.

The woman was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where she was pronounced dead.

Around midday, police said they had found the driver of the van, and he was being questioned.

Friends and relatives of the woman told news outlets that she was the mother of two young children.
