Woman strips naked in Downtown LA after high-speed chase

A 32-year-old woman who allegedly tried to run over her parents in Pasadena and then led multiple law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase that stretched from Pasadena to Thousand Oaks and finally ended in downtown Los Angeles, was behind bars this morning back where it all started.

Pasadena resident Simone Gonzalez was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and felony evasion, according to Pasadena police Lt. Jesse Carrillo.

Carrillo said he did know Gonzalez's bail amount.

The drama began about 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of Linda Vista Avenue as some sort of domestic dispute, Pasadena police Lt. Vasken Gourdikian said.

"We got a 911 call from the parents after their daughter tried to run them over,'' Gourdikian said. "Officers then responded to the scene and that's when the pursuit began.''

Gonzalez weaved in and out of traffic as she guided her SUV onto the westbound Ventura (134) Freeway. The woman then headed north on the Ventura (101) Freeway into Agoura Hills, Woodland Hills and then into Thousand Oaks.

During the chase she also drove into Simi Valley by way of the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway going an estimated 100-plus miles per hour at times, according to police.

Pasadena police and California Highway Patrol units were involved in the pursuit which made a U-turn heading back east through the San Fernando Valley, into Pasadena and finally down into Los Angeles.

Near the corner of Main and Third streets in downtown L.A., Gonzalez parked her SUV, got out and began walking down the street. She tried to get into a bar and then stripped off all her clothes on the street before being detained by Los Angeles police officers.

She was then handed over to Pasadena officers who transported her back to Pasadena for booking, according to Gourdikian.

"There appears to be some sort of mental imbalance involved with her,'' he said.
