Dodgers-Cubs Tokyo tickets listed between $2,000 and well over $10,000 in resale market
LOS ANGELES - Want to see Shohei Ohtani in-person in Tokyo? You may need to fork up some okane, which translates to "money" in Japanese.
Earlier in the week, the Los Angeles Dodgers released a limited number of tickets to eligible season-ticket holders for the Boys In Blue's season opener at Tokyo Dome against the Chicago Cubs for Mar. 18-19. Tickets set aside for that particular group of fans has since been sold out, but few of those seats have been listed in secondary markets.
On the popular resale site, StubHub, tickets for Game 1 of the 2-game series in Japan have been listed between $2,000 and well over $10,000. No, we didn't mean ¥10,000, but $10,000, as in dollars. The "cheapest" seat available on StubHub as of January 28 is being listed at $2,080, which is in the centerfield bleachers. On the other hand, the most expensive seat on StubHub is being listed for $18,011, located behind home plate.
As for Game 2, or the Tokyo series finale, the get-in price starts at just over $1,600. The most expensive ticket for Wednesday, Mar. 19 game is listed at just over $19,000, which is behind home plate.

As of Jan. 28, no announcements have been made about whether there are other ways MLB fans based out of Los Angeles or Chicago the areas will be able to purchase the Tokyo Dome series tickets online.
In addition to welcoming the defending World Series champs, the Mar. 18-19 series marks an informal homecoming for Ohtani and fellow Japanese MLB stars Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Rōki Sasaki, Shōta Imanaga (Cubs) and Seiya Suzuki (Cubs).
