Dodgers trade Gavin Lux to Cincinnati Reds, report says
LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers are trading away infielder Gavin Lux.
According to a report from ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Dodgers are sending Lux to the Cincinnati Reds for minor league outfielder Mike Sirota and a competitive balance Round A pick.
Lux leaves Los Angeles after spending at least six-plus years with the Boys in Blue. The 2024 World Series-winning season marked a comeback tour for Lux after he suffered a serious knee injury in 2023. Not only did the 26-year-old infielder win a World Series ring, he finished the regular season with a .251 batting average, 10 home runs and a .703 OPS in 139 games.
The news of the Wisconsin native's reported departure comes just days after the Dodgers signed Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim and extended NLCS MVP Tommy Edman's current contract, both moves likely marking the end of Lux's time with the Dodgers.
Should the trade go through, a three-game series between the Boys in Blue and the Reds is scheduled from August 25 to 27 in Los Angeles. If Lux remains a Red by then, expect the Dodgers to hold a personal ring ceremony and an in-game tribute to honor the former infielder.
