Friends, families divided in famed UCLA-USC rivalry

Before the game starts, the most famed football rivalry meets on the field. Not the football field, but the field where tailgaters outside the Rose Bowl get fired up for what's to come.

"This is the rose bowl, this is our home field and we do party out here," UCLA fan Jeff Strand said. "We have a great pregame party, I mean this is family out here."

That's until the rivalry splits your actual family.

"Every year me and my uncle right here we have a love hate relationship on Saturdays," Jesse Rodriguez, USC grad student, said. "Unfortunately on Saturdays it's hate, but on Sundays were Raider fans."

The competition runs deep from predictions on the win.

"Thirty-eight to ten USC Trojans fight on," Cory Edwards, USC fan, said.

To who can cook a better tri-tip.

"We're cooking USC Trojans," UCLA dad, Taua Taua, laughed.

With campuses 12 miles apart, students and alumni gather in one spot, once a year for this rivalry game where fans say records go out the window and it's the team that has the most heart that wins.

"It's going to be a great game," Strand predicted. "I think UCLA is going to step it up for today and we'll what we see."

"It's a USC victory all the way" USC fan Alex Ucello said. "I don't even want to tell you the point spread it's going to be a USC victory bam done."
