Paralympian Stephani Victor's home burglarized in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - A Los Angeles woman who won gold and silver medals in the Paralympics was burglarized while she was out of town, and the thieves were caught on security video.
Stephani Victor tragically lost her legs to a drunken driver 20 years ago and went on to win five Paralympic medals, four World Championship titles and five Overall World Cup titles.
Victor said she recently returned home from a trip to Utah to get her "new legs" and found her house ransacked. The thieves took the couple's two cars, family heirlooms and jewelry.
A hard drive was even stolen that has 20 hours of footage about the loss of her legs and her Olympic success thereafter, which she was planning to use for a documentary.
The Los Angeles Police Department found the two vehicles that were stolen, but nothing else.
Victor said she is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information about the burglary. You can also call the LAPD Crime Stoppers tipline at 1 (800) 222-TIPS.
