Wildcats star Nelson Spruce talks XFL's return to LA
CARSON, Calif. - The XFL promises fun, fan-friendly football, and also rosters filled with players with NFL experience. One of those is former Rams receiver, and now L.A.Wildcat, Nelson Spruce.
Spruce was a fan favorite when he was with the LA Rams in 2016.
Unfortunately, due to injuries, he was sidelined now the 'Spruce Goose' is back in action playing for the XFL as an L.A. Wildcat.

One week after becoming the first XFL receiver to produce a 100-yard game in the L.A. Wildcats’ franchise opener in Houston.
"It was awesome. We didn't get the outcome we wanted. We didn't get the win, but our first home game I think was...the atmosphere was crazy and the fans showed up," Spruce said.
The Westlake High graduate scored the team’s first two home touchdowns in Sunday’s 25-18 loss to the Dallas Renegades at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.
Spruce says, 'I think going forward the fans are what's going to drive the league."
He explained to FOX 11 about the 'fan fest' which is held before the first home game and includes stadium tours, ticket giveaways, and food trucks.
What are some of the records he plans to break this season? What are some of his goals?
Spruce says, "Our first goal is getting our first win."
He is on his fourth professional football team in Southern California, starring for the XFL’s Wildcats following the Rams and Chargers of the NFL and the San Diego Fleet of the defunct Alliance of American Football.
When asked if he would like to back playing in the NFL?
"Yeah, If you asked me early on that would definitely be my goal, but now I'm kind of just enjoying playing again."
The LA Wildcats have five home games this year all at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Their next game is against the DC Defenders this Sunday, Feb 23rd. The action starts at 3 p.m., but the 'fan fest' will open at noon at the north end of the stadium.
