Protests, marches continue over deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor

Thousands of people again took to the streets around the Southland to protest racism and police brutality on Sunday, with at least a dozen demonstrations in Los Angeles County alone tied to the deaths of George Floyd, who died in custody in Minneapolis, and Breonna Taylor killed in a police raid of her Louisville apartment.  

National Guard begins leaving Los Angeles, Vallejo, other cities

“After nearly a week assisting civil authorities on the streets of California, soldiers with the California National Guard will begin transitioning back to their home armories,” the Cal Guard said in a statement. A timeline for the pullout was not provided.
