The LA City Council will allow the Pride Flag to be raised in the Civic Center to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

Pride month, held every year during the month of June, is celebrated in the U.S. and countries across the world. In honor of Pride Month, there are events, marches, parades, festivities and remembrances held throughout the month across Southern California.

The annual WeHo Pride celebration is dubbed as one of the largest events honoring LGBTQ+ pride in the world.

The City Charter prohibits flags other than the American, California and city flags from being raised at City Hall and other city facilities.

The annual event started in 1983 as the Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Parade - and has only grown since then.
