Scattered mudflows in SoCal burn areas after rain

LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - The storm that moved through Southern California Thursday caused scattered mudflows, accidents on rain-slicked roadways and mandatory evacuations.

The rain was mostly cleared out on Friday. However, forecasters said another system could bring chances of rain on Saturday.

A high surf advisory was in effect until 10 p.m. Friday along the coasts of Ventura, Los Angeles and Orange counties.

In Malibu, a mudslide was reported in the Woolsey Fire burn area on Cuthbert Road between Horizon Drive to Busch Drive. The area was shut down to traffic as crews worked to clean up the mudflow.

For those in the Woolsey Fire burn area, officials urged residents to check this interactive map created by the U.S. Geological Survey that shows the likelihood and magnitude of debris flow amid the storm.

Portions of Riverside and Orange counties in the Holy Fire burn area also faced the effects of the storm. In Corona, the entrance to Glen Ivy RV Park was impassable due to mudflow.

The storm also caused multiple accidents Thursday morning on roadways, including a big rig crash on the 134 Freeway in Eagle Rock and the 101 Freeway in the Hollywood Hills.
