Unhealthy air forecast Sunday for SF, SG Valleys
LOS ANGELES - Air quality will be unhealthy on Sunday for everyone in the east and west San Gabriel Valley, San Gabriel Mountains and San Fernando Valley, according to the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
Air quality will be unhealthy for sensitive individuals in Central Los Angeles, Southeast Los Angeles County, the Pomona/Walnut Valley, the south San Gabriel Valley and the Santa Clarita Valley.
Los Angeles County's health officer, Dr. Muntu Davis, advises people who live or work in those areas and have heart disease, asthma or other respiratory diseases to minimize outdoor activities in light of the AQMD'sforecast.
Children who have sensitive conditions, including heart disease, asthma and other chronic respiratory diseases, should not participate in outdoor physical activity and should stay indoors as much as possible, he said.
For current air quality maps and forecasts, visit the AQMD website at www.aqmd.gov/home/air-quality.
The advisory was largely due to the Bobcat Fire, which has burned more than 114,000 acres in the Angeles National Forest.
