California woman reported missing while on vacation in Miami found safe

Angela Morrisey, a 23-year-old California mother of two, was found safe after she was reported missing for two weeks while vacationing in Miami.

Police told the Indian Country Today that Morrisey called 911 from Medley, Florida. She said she was a missing person and was in need of medical attention. Morrisey was transported to the hospital.

Her mother, Darnell Melancon, of Yuma, had traveled to Florida to help search for her daughter. Morrisey is from Sacramento and a citizen of the Fort Yuma Quechan Indian Tribe.

Morrisey was in Miami with her boyfriend, who told police he last saw her March 28. The two were waiting for a boat tour at the downtown Bayside Marketplace when she headed to the restroom and never returned, investigators said.

The next night, Morrisey was spotted on surveillance video at a gas station in the suburb of Hialeah. She was alone and did not appear to be in distress, Miami Police Assistant Chief Armando Aguilar said.
