Community mourns father, daughter killed in Fullerton plane crash
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - A community is in mourning after a tragic plane crash claimed the lives of a beloved teen athlete and her father.
On Saturday, emotional tributes poured in at Huntington Beach High School. This is where the 16-year-old Kelly Reid attended and where she also played multiple sports.
She was described as a beloved teammate, a great friend, and just an all-around remarkable person, and her father was remembered as her biggest supporter.
It was a touching tribute to a young life cut far too short.
Video posted on social media shows Kelly Reid playing flag football. While this post from the Huntington Beach High School Girls soccer program describes Kelly as an amazing girl, genuine and kind, with a passion for life, the tribute says the number 6 was fitting for the varsity player.

"The number 6 symbolizes love, creating harmony and taking care of others. I cannot think of a better way to describe our special number 6. Kelly was a natural caregiver and always put others first. She will be deeply missed. Her father was at every single game always so proud of his daughter," the team wrote on social media.
Kelly and her father, Pascal Reed, were killed when the small plane they were in crashed into a Fullerton warehouse Thursday afternoon. The explosion injured 19 people working in the building.
Police said the plane – a Vans RV-10 experimental aircraft – crashed through the roof of a furniture manufacturing building while making its approach to the runway. Then, it caught on fire, sending large plumes of smoke in the air, visible from miles away.
The same security camera near Fullerton Municipal Airport caught another plane crash back in November, which injured two people on board.

According to LinkedIn, Pascal worked in experimental aircraft development. Records show that he was the registered owner of the four-person plane, which was built in 2011.
Tributes to the father and daughter continue to flood social media as heartbroken friends and family try to process the tragedy.
"Words cannot describe how much my heart hurts. Right now. I'm in disbelief that the sweetest soul is really gone. Your smile and laugh was so contagious and made me look forward to every practice and game. I'm so lucky to have known you, and I'm especially blessed to have called you my teammate and friend. I find peace knowing that you and your dad are in a better place, shining down on all of us," one loved one wrote.
It's still not clear what caused that plane to crash. A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board is expected to be released in about two weeks, but the final report could take up to 18 months.
