During haircuts, kids receive reading lessons at Pennsylvania barber shop

Kids are getting a lot more than a fresh new haircut at one barber shop.

City Cuts Barbershop of Kutztown in Pennsylvania has been trying to boost the reading skills among their youngest customers. For the past year, workers at the barber shop have been providing books for kids to read while they get their hair trimmed.

It's all part of their "Books by Kids Program," where the goal is to get the kids to read the books aloud during their haircut.

Workers said they hope it will build their reading and public speaking confidence skills.
