There was plenty of concern in the area of the Pacific Palisades fire even for the residents who weren't evacuated were feeling pretty nervous.

Calvery Christian School took no chances notifying parents like Natasha Johnson by text message to pick up her kids.

Johnson says school officials and their students were mostly calm. "You have to be calm in these situations," she said after picking up her kids from school.

But, for Tom Villante who picked up his son TJ the hair was sticking up on the back of his neck when he got the text message informing parents of a fire in the neighborhood.

"I was scared," says Villante adding, "I mean, you just never know. and you see the flames and you see the smoke and it was very close."For the kids... it was nice to get out of class early even if it was a bit unnerving.

Said one, "It was scary and there was also a lot of ashes." Another, Gracie Penenberg says, "Our teachers just said to stay calm."

There are celebrities that live in this area. Actor Ray Liotta is one of them. We walked up the hill behind him. He didn't want to comment on camera. Clearly, wanted to see what was going on. I asked him how he was doing. He said "fine."

And, seemed the same way on the way back down the hill. Others who live around here... not some fine.

Longtime resident Gilda Terry told FOX 11 "This is terrifying... it's just horrible. you wanna go to your home to save your home to get whatever possessions out.
