#FreewayChallenge and the CHP's challenge to stop it

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - The California Highway Patrol wants to put an end to a dangerous new trend...skateboarding on a freeway!

This is all in responding to the new popular online hashtag "freeway challenge."

A skateboarder jumps out of a car in freeway traffic and does his thing while someone records it…and then posts it online.

The CHP warns this is very dangerous -- not only for skateboarders, but for drivers.

CHP reminded the public that the social media stunt is punishable with a big fine.
