Hit-and-run crash caught on camera in East Hollywood: Police searching for driver months later

The Los Angeles Police Department is searching for a driver months after they allegedly ran over a woman with their car in East Hollywood. On Friday, the department released surveillance footage of the crash in an effort to help identify the suspect.

The crash happened back on Oct. 16, shortly before 4 a.m. at the intersection of Western Avenue and Clinton Street.

In the video, a woman is seen standing on the sidewalk along Clinton Street, when a man gets out of a car and approaches her. As the two talk, they walk into the intersection. The man eventually turns around to walk back to his car, while the woman continues through the intersection.

That's when police said a driver went through the intersection, hitting and severely injuring the 22-year-old. The driver didn't stop.

Officers said they believe the driver may have been in a Toyota Camry, and that the man who was with the woman just before the crash also left before officers got there.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call detectives with the LAPD's West Traffic Division.
