A wild overnight chase through East Hollywood and Koreatown ended in chaos early Friday morning.

A suspect was taken into custody following a morning pursuit from downtown LA to Hollywood. At one point, the suspect ran across the 101 Freeway to evade officers.

According to authorities, a 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting.

Authorities announced 28-year-old Efrain Villalobos, a Lawndale resident, was arrested in Redondo Beach over the weekend. He is accused of shooting the driver who plowed a Nissan Versa into a crowd outside an East Hollywood nightclub.

Police say they are still searching for 28-year-old Efrain Villalobos who is accused of shooting Fernando Ramirez after he plowed his car into a group of people outside a club last month.

Fernando Ramirez, 29, faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Police say bystanders attacked a driver who intentionally drove his car into a crowd outside an East Hollywood night club. Now, police are searching for a man they say shot the driver.

The investigation into the fatal shooting will be handled by the Los Angeles Police Department's West Homicide Bureau.

Authorities said officers opened fire after the the suspect, Victor Manuel Carillo, approached them while armed with a knife.

The LAPD said it decided to increase patrolling around Sunday's Thai New Songkran Festival in East Hollywood, citing "sufficient resources."

One person was hospitalized after shots were fired at a recording studio in East Hollywood.
