LASD finds body of man who was set on fire in Norwalk

Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department are investigating the death of a man who was found in the San Gabriel Riverbed. 

Deputies responded to the riverbed at Imperial Highway in Norwalk around 5:15 a.m. Wednesday after receiving calls about a man down. 

When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered an unresponsive man on fire in a pathway along the San Gabriel Riverbed.

The man, who was in his 30’s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives are searching the area for any witnesses and surveillance footage. 

The cause of the death is unknown at this time.
