Lightning strikes at Lake Fire threaten containment lines
LAKE HUGHES, Calif. - Over a hundred lighting strikes from thunderstorms started spot fires in the Angeles National Forest, were firefighters worked in 100+ degree temperatures to contain the spreading of the Lake Fire.

The fire has grown to over 17,860 acres, with containment at 12 percent.
Until firefighters are able to box the fire in with containment lines, existing evacuation stand.
Some homeowners staying in trailers at the parking lot of the Salt Lick Tavern in Lake Elizabeth.
Twelve structures have been destroyed, at least six of them, homes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries or deaths have been reported.
But with more heat expected, there is little hope that those evacuated from areas like Pine Canyon.
