Man fatally shot in South Gate; investigation underway

SOUTH GATE, Calif. - Authorities Tuesday were investigating the shooting death of a man in South Gate.

The shooting was reported around 8:21 p.m. Monday in the 9700 block of Long Beach Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The adult male victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. Information on his identity was not immediately available.

Investigators said that the shooting may be gang-related.

There is no suspect or vehicle description at this time. 

The investigation is ongoing.
