McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 value meal into December at most locations in the U.S.

The fast-food titan first rolled out the deal at participating restaurants nationwide on June 25.

This affordable deal offers consumers a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, four-piece chicken nuggets and a small soda for $5.

McDonald’s franchisees held a vote to extend the value meal, and about 80% of local markets chose to prolong the deal into December. CNBC reports that voting to extend the meal deal at other restaurant locations are continuing.

After McDonald’s launched its meal deal, competitors like Burger King announced its own $5 meal deals. Burger King extended its deal through October, the Associated Press reported.

Moreover, Wendy’s which already offered a $5 meal deal, began offering customers a free Frosty in June. Now the burger chain is offering patrons a $5 meal deal targeted at college football fans, with no delivery costs every Saturday this fall.

McDonald’s tells the AP it plans to offer other deals this fall, including free medium fries every Friday with a $1 minimum purchase and $1 10-piece Chicken McNuggets between Nov. 4 and Dec. 2.
