Midday Sunday: The reality of Islam and Muslims

Sunday's guest is Edina Lukovic, the Director of Policy and Programs for the Muslim Public Affairs Council.

Unlike the stereotypical image of Muslims, Ms. Lukovic is a fair-skinned, blue-eyed woman born in Europe, but she has lived in the United States since she was a 1-year-old.

Ms. Lukovic has devoted the last 15 years to educating and informing her fellow Americans about the reality of Islam and Muslims. Her work has run the gamut from explaining the importance of women wearing the traditional hijab but adapting the head scarf to life in the U.S. to explaining Sharia and how it does not conflict with any American values or laws.

Information about Mr. Lukovic's work and the Muslim Public Affairs Council is available on line at mpac.org.
