Nation's oldest living WWII combat veteran hospitalized

Richard Overton, our nation's oldest living WWII combat veteran, has been hospitalized. A spokesperson for Overton's family has confirmed Overton was hospitalized with pneumonia on November 10,

FOX 7 has been told that Overton is in the ICU. He was scheduled to be at the Austin Community College's Veterans Day celebration today but officials say he had to cancel due to illness.

Overton turned 109 in May. A celebration was held and Governor Abbott and the First Lady sang happy birthday to him. Overton was born in Bastrop County on May 11, 1906. He served in the Army.
