New smartphone-shaped gun 'hides in plain sight'

A Minnesota company is developing a two-shot pistol that folds up to resemble a smartphone.

Ideal Conceal says the weapon - which it plans to begin selling later this year - is a double-barreled .380 caliber pistol that unfolds with a click of the safety. It will retail for $395.

"Smartphones are everywhere, so your new pistol will easily blend in with today's environment," the company says on its website. "In its locked position, it will be virtually undetectable because it hides in plain sight."

In an interview with CNN Money, developer Kirk Kjellberg said that he came across the idea after being singled out for carrying a firearm in public.
