One driver killed in DUI crash in Fullerton, second driver arrested

A crash involving two vehicles Friday in Anaheim left one motorist dead and the second driver arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.

The crash took place about 3 p.m. at the intersection of South Raymond Avenue and East Orangefair Lane, Fullerton police Lt. John Radus said.

The investigation revealed that a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 was heading south on Raymond at a high speed when it broadsided a 1964 Chevrolet Malibu SS making a westbound turn onto Orangefair. The truck then flipped and rolled over several times and came to rest upside down in the southbound lanes of Raymond, Radus said.

The 80-year-old driver of the Malibu was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, Radus continued. His name was withheld pending family notification.

The other driver, a 25-year-old man who suffered moderate injuries, was placed under arrest for suspicion of felony driving under the influence resulting in great bodily harm.

The unidentified man was then taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. His name was not immediately available.

Anyone with information on this fatal crash was asked to call Fullerton police at 714-738-5313. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
