Family in Pacoima claims neighbor won't return lost French Bulldog

A heartbroken Pacoima family is pleading for their beloved dog to be returned home after it was allegedly stolen from their front yard, later found wandering their neighborhood, and then – they believe – was taken by a neighbor.

Freddy is an owner of 2-year-old Ferragamo, a French Bulldog who serves as his 15-year-old son’s therapy dog. His family returned home on October 12 to find their gates’ locks cut – and the family pup – gone.

They turned to social media asking for the community’s help in finding Ferragamo. Freddy’s wife quickly heard back from a neighbor, who allegedly claimed to have found the pup wandering the streets.

"She sent us pictures of the dog, which we have, and she just doesn’t want to return him back," Freddy told FOX 11. He says he has no idea why she’s refusing to return their pet.

The family says they’ve tried everything they can think of to convince their neighbor to surrender Ferragamo, but nothing has worked.

"My wife even offered to buy them another dog," said Freddy. Give me that one and we’ll get you another one."

The family then went to police, who took a report and said to call if someone spots Ferragamo at the neighbor’s home. They said there’s not much else they can do.

FOX 11 has made multiple attempts to contact the neighbor but have not yet heard back.

The family says they just want Ferragamo returned home, no questions asked.

"We’re hoping for her to say,' ‘OK, here’s your dog back.’ No hard feelings from us, hopefully the same from them and that’s just it. We are neighbors at the end of the day," Freddy said.
