Pedestrian killed by hit-and-run vehicle in West Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES - A pedestrian was fatally injured in the West Los Angeles area Wednesday morning, and police later detained the motorist allegedly involved in the hit-and-run crash.
The victim was struck by an older-model box truck with faded "Penske'' signage on it about 6:20 a.m. at Pico and Sepulveda Boulevards, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The person who was allegedly behind the wheel was later taken into custody for questioning, police said.
Authorities said that the adult male victim was walking in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash. His identity has not been released.
