Police chase DUI suspect across LA County

A police chase that started in Simi Valley ended up with the driver leading officers onto LA County freeways, traveling well over 100 mph.

Officers arrested two people in East Hollywood Friday night, after a traffic stop for suspected DUI turned into a police chase of a stolen car. After a lengthy search, officers found one of the suspects hiding in a dumpster.

It all started in Simi Valley, where an officer suspected a driver of driving under the influence. While that officer was following the car though, they realize that it had been reported stolen out of San Diego. That's when the police started the chase.

The driver eventually made their way into Los Angeles County. SkyFOX caught up with the chase on the 5 Freeway just before 8 p.m. The driver continued flying down freeways, hitting speeds well over 100 mph, while weaving through traffic.

The driver got off the freeway in East Hollywood, hitting more than 60 mph on side streets.

After several minutes of driving around East Hollywood, the driver pulled over near N. Berendo Street and Clinton Street, and two people ran from the car.

Officers searched the area for several minutes. Eventually, officers were able to locate both suspects, one of whom was hiding in a dumpster. Both suspects were arrested.
