Sam’s Club is opening its largest innovation store on Thursday in Grapevine, Texas.

The 150,000-square-foot hub will be the club’s first all-digital store and won’t have a register option at its location, compared to other stores where customers have the choice to checkout at a register or with their app.

This new hub also features extra space for Club Pickup and Delivery from Club order fulfillment and more interactive elements in its food department, including an area where sushi chefs cook in front of customers.

Consumers visiting the Grapevine store will have to use the company’s Scan & Go mobile checkout, a strategy designed to bolster digital engagement. Right now, one-third of all Sam’s Club members use Scan & Go.

And more exit arches have also been added at the front of the club. FOX Business noted that the arches, which are available in more than 300 clubs, use artificial intelligence and computer vision to scan a customer's cart rather than having them wait in line for receipt verification to exit the club. These arches are slated to roll out to all of its stores by the end of the year.

Additionally, the Grapevine location will have 6,000 square feet of additional space for Club Pickup and Delivery from Club order fulfillment, which is about four times the standard fulfillment space.

Sam’s Club tells FOX Business that there will also be a more open floor plan and additional displays, including a showroom for its online-only assortment, so members can see the items before purchasing.
